OrthoArizona has opened a new $25 million, 50,000 square foot flagship at 9070 W. Glendale Ave., next to Westgate and State Farm Stadium. The building brings a full orthopedic care path together in one place: a musculoskeletal clinic, an on-site ambulatory surgery center, physical therapy, and advanced imaging that includes MRI.
The Glendale center is part of a broader build-out. Since late 2024, the practice has added roughly 77,000 square feet of clinical space, including a Scottsdale imaging center and a 13,000 square foot center in Verrado. Its Deer Valley location grew from 12,000 to nearly 26,000 square feet, and a 50,000 square foot Chandler center is scheduled for summer 2027.
“Putting the clinic, imaging, surgery and therapy in one building shortens the path from injury to recovery,” said Dr. Caleb Behrend, the group’s president. Founded in 1994, OrthoArizona now operates more than 30 centers and 15 ambulatory surgery centers with more than 300 providers.
Why it matters
Buildings like this are where private medical construction gets technical. An ambulatory surgery center brings operating room requirements for air changes, pressure relationships and medical gas. An MRI suite adds shielding, equipment rigging and power quality. Therapy gyms, imaging and clinic space all need to flow together so patients move easily from one step to the next.
The trend is clear across the Valley: more specialty care is moving into outpatient settings closer to where patients live. That means more ASCs, imaging suites and multi-specialty buildings, and more demand for teams that understand how to deliver them on schedule and ready for inspection.
